Satan held me in bondage for so many years,
Kept me confused and fed all my fears.
He's the master deceiver, the father of lies,
He delights in our misery and covets our cries.
But the Spirit of truth dispelled all my doubt,
And I discovered at last what God's grace is about.
It wasn't perfection I needed, but peace;
God's grace is a gift offered freely to me.
Christ paid for my sin with His precious blood,
And covers me now with a blanket of love.
Now free at last to serve the one I adore,
All glory to Jesus, my Savior and Lord.

For by grace you have been saved through faith,
and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
not of works, lest anyone should boast.
